Tasingegade, a student shared housing option for DIS students, has provided me with a great sense of comfort since I've been in Copenhagen. Although I personally do not live there, I spend the majority of my nights there, preparing to go out before a casual evening out and about on the town and for special occasions. Every Tuesday, the SRA's of Tasingegade open "The Great Dane," a bar located in the common room. Here, DIS students can buy beer for 5 kroner and shots for 10, play music, and engage in foosball tournaments. It's a place where we can all come together and enjoy ourselves, celebrating the relationships we have developed with DIS students and Danes alike.
On a typical Tuesday evening, Brittany, Maggie, and I decided that we should share with the class a piece of Copenhagen that we've held so close to our hearts for the past few months: casually hanging out at the Dane. We hoped to convey a message of how important this place has been to us, showing a piece of home (it's the closest thing to home I've experienced in CPH even though I don't have my won key...thanks Umit) that we've found in Copenhagen as well as the strong bonds that we have developed during our study abroad.

All About Harry…& M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E.
I’m not going to give anything away. Don’t worry. But you should probably know that if you’re as much of a Harry Potter freak as I am, you will be phenomenally surprised by this latest movie. It’s so on par with the books that I was dumbfounded. As much as it pains me to say this, I might have liked this movie as much as I love the book. If they let me down with a shitty part 2 to book 7, I will throw a fit…but judging by how incredible this movie was, my hopes are set quite high and I’m confident that the HP crew will follow through. Can’t wait for July 15th!
London, overall, was awesome. Emily and I stayed in one of the creepiest hostels ever, but whatever. I got pseudo-caught in the middle of a brawl around 4am when I had to pee. People were hooking up in our room, I might have bed bugs (I’m only saying that because I have three dots in a row on my wrist…but no new bites have appeared…cross your fingers!), and there were scary security guards. Other than that, though, we had a great time. SO much Chipotle and I swear, every time it got better. Friday night we found a Lebanese restaurant in Soho and had the most incredible kebabs and hummus…after we downed a bowl of olives at some bar we went to after seeing Harry. We culminated our time in London by waking up at 3:30 to catch our 6:40 and 7:10 flights… I was flying out of Heathrow and Em out of Gatwick, so we had to take separate buses from Euston Station, to separate train stations, to separate airports, to separate destinations. It was a crazy morning, and she doesn’t have a phone so I didn’t really know if she had made it home until way later. I was home by 10 and didn’t wake up until 5:30. It was glorious.
This past week has gone by so fast. All I’ve really done is go to class and watch Weeds. I’m catching up. Season 5 is bomb.
Now I’m going to Disneyland Paris for Thanksgiving weekend! It kills me that I’m missing my faaavorite holiday in the world, but I’ll probably just ask Sus to make me my very own Thanksgiving dinner when I get to Florida. To everybody at home: HAPPY THANKSGIVING! And I hope you’re all enjoying Susie’s amazing turkey, mashed potatoes, yams, stuffing with chorizo, and arroz con gandules. I am indescribably jealous. BUT I’m so excited to go spend the weekend with my favorite mouse! Christmas decorations are up in Disney, and I can’t remember the last time I got to see happiest place on Earth decked out in Christmas décor, so I know I’m in for a great surprise.
Just over three weeks until I’m stateside again…so weird.
Okay, that’s all. Fin. Au revoir!

Spicy Salami & Life Celebrations
The travel break ended in fabulous fashion. I spent my last four days of travels staying with my best friend in Milan, shoving our faces with spicy salami & grilled cheese sandwiches, large delicious pizzas, cheese puffs, and incredible Chinese food. While I know Sus & Bas would be disappointed to hear this, absolutely no sightseeing (or shopping) took place in Milano, the fashion capital of the world. After a week and a half of traveling, all I wanted to do was kick back with Em, drink wine, and watch Friends episodes until we couldn’t stand it anymore (although it’s essentially impossible to ever make me sick of the best show known to mankind). Without a camera (oh, did I mention my camera’s broken?), it didn’t make sense to go sightseeing. Either way, it was a fabulous way to end gallivanting about Europe for two weeks… oh except for the fact that I broke the Italian washing machine in Emily’s apartment, and since I couldn’t retrieve my clothes, now I’m out two sweaters, my favorite pair of leggings, two pairs of tights, my oh-so-cozy Denison sweatshirt, my black mini that I love so much, and my Dos Equis boxers… Rough.
Emily and I flew back to Copenhagen together along with a couple of her friends from Richmond. I introduced her to the Thursday outing that we, the Americans studying in CPH, never miss out on: Kulor. The next day, we picked up my friend Josh from the airport (whom I hadn’t seen in 5 years), and we proceeded to get three medium pizzas from Domino’s and an order of cheesy bread… delicious. We annihilated all of it.
The next day… SENSATION! We head over to Tasingegade around 3, glittered up and decked out in white, and left for the concert around 7 (I think…?)… no words can accurately describe our sensational experience. We celebrated life like nobody’s business. Probably the most incredible night of my life, and I’ve had my fair share of pretty ridiculous nighttime escapades. Eric Prydz was phenomenal. So absurd. I want to rave every weekend for the rest of my life…but not really because my calves still hurt. And it’s Thursday.

Amsterdam, Praha, & Vienna
Travel breaks are probably the best thing ever. Ever ever. Since last Friday I've hit up 3 cities and am leaving for my next journey this evening...So.
AMSTERDAM.
Cool city overall. A little terrifying at times but ya know, whatever. There was a carnival which actually made me want to cry a little bit because we were there over Halloween and creepy men in masks stand everrrrrywhere. I don't deal well with that. I like Thanksgiving. Turkeys aren't scary like the scary costumes present during All Hallows Eve. I still get scared in MK&A's Double Double Toil and Trouble...explains me pretty well. Anyways, Amsterdam.
They have this thing there...the Heineken Experience. I "became the beer" and that was pretty cool... and then I got free samples... that was even cooler. Kind of like that shirt they had there that on the back said "Be Cool." We walked through the Red Light District before we had to hop a plane and let me tell you something... prostitutes in the Red Light District (or at least where I was) are old. And, not to be mean or anything, but I'm confused as to why men pay them for sex. It was creepy. There were chubby old ladies sitting in windows, wearing bikinis, shaking their tatas or curling their hair. It was weird. No offense, Dutch prostitutes. Bottom line: Amsterdam. Cool place. Surprisingly good food. Not sure if I'd ever do it again.
PRAGUE
This city made me HATE everywhere else I've ever been. OBSESSED with Praha... that's an understatement. We took a cab in from the airport around 8:30pm-ish and within ten minutes of seeing that city from a glance at night, I fell in love. I envy every single person that studies in Prague. I wouldn't put it past myself to move there at some point in my life. Words CANNOT describe how in love with Praha I am... I think you get the idea. I REALLYYYY wish I could summarize my time there in this blog post, but I feel like it would be a sin to try to do so.. wouldn't do the best place in the world justice. I'll try to make it short and sweet, but really just go. GO GO GO GO GO.
1. We stayed with some guys that were studying in Prague for the semester.. first thing we did was go to this restaurant around the corner. I had a chicken skewer and potato pancakes and my mouth misses that meal to this day nearly a week later. After, we went to this bar called Usudu which is essentially a dungeon. It was bomb. Check it out WHEN you go to Prague. Not if. Great mojitos and long island iced teas (I'm really not this much of a girl... the drinks were recommended to me.) Plus they have this liquor that I can't remember the name of that tastes like Christmas. It was a good night until I had to help Kelly throw up for 3 hours. Whatever.
2. Sightseeing in the newer area of Prague. BREATHTAKING. (Plus, during my sightseeing expedition, I stumbled upon a Starbucks that had Passion Fruit Iced Tea. I was content.) Checked out a bunch of stuff like the Dancing Tower, Government Town, this cool park. Lovely. Too bad last night spillage occurred in my purse and broke my camera so I probably won't be able to retrieve those pictures until Christmas Eve when I finally go back to Dayton. Cool.
3. This really should've been #1. Prague is dirrrrrt cheap. Divide by 20 and you get American dollars and I'll put it this way: I paid 30 Czech Krowns for a huge pint at dinner first night. I trust you can do math. Added bonus as to why I LOVE PRAGUE. Copenhagen what?
4. Mecca. I don't want to go into details...almost as cool as Kulor. Kulor really misses me right now, by the way. And that lady at the Bagel Co by Norreport. She might have gone out of business by now, actually.
K, this is getting long, so you get the idea: I made the biggest mistake of my life in not studying in Prague. CPH, I love you, but you suck.
Vienna.
This city doesn't even deserve caps lock. Not that pretty, boring night life, not particularly cheap, and I went after Prague. I'd never come back here. I have 7 hours before my flight and I would rather sit in my hostel and blog than go frolic in the city...that bad. 3 good things: 1. the U-Bahn here is fabulous. Very well organized and gets you everywhere. 2. Food. I've had great pizza, fabulous noodles, and a truly phenomenal falafel. 3. Naschmarket. Huge flea market with incredible smells coming from every direction. Plus, so many stands with olives of you wouldn't believe how many sorts, falafel, and grape leaves. I paid 6 euro for some cheese-stuffed olives and grape leaves which was the highlight of this place that alleges it's the 'best place to live in Europe.' Yawn.
This was unnecessarily long and I'm truly sorry.
Go to Prague. Tomorrow if you can.
